About our Rough Rider Trail Tour
We offer this guide led tour of the Sonoran Desert on a rough trail north of Phoenix. The stunning scenery stretches out around you in full-color panoramic views making it worth the drive. The trail is rough but we take it slow to make it a fun, interesting adventure.
WHAT TO WEAR
Closed-toe shoes are required since we venture out on foot at our designated stopping points. During the fall and winter months, be sure to bring a jacket. Temperatures in the desert are known to drop into the 30s after sunset, especially on the ride back to our office in the open-air off-road vehicles. We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing that will show up well in your photographs (there will be plenty!).
Scottsdale Adventure Tours is a special recreation permit-holder through the U.S. Department of Agriculture: Cave Creek Ranger District and the U.S. Department of the Interior: Bureau of Land Management. Our Scottsdale departure off-road tours occur northwest of Rio Verde, northeast of Scottsdale, west of the Verde River, and southeast of Cave Creek. Our Table Mesa off-road tours occur northwest of New River and southwest of Black Canyon City.
